Technology and Investment Focus

June 2003 to Present

 

Although my role as Product and Business Development Director for SuperBT continued through June of 2003, from January of 2002, I began evaluating and overseeing the investments of my wife's estate.  As of June 2003 I have dedicated myself full time to the position of Investment Advisor to the estate and family trust of Carolyn Dare Wilfred.  My position involves managing the investments of the family trust and advising the operational managers where required for further business and product development. I am now a member of the Board of Directors of Wilfred Investments Limited, Combined Technology NZ Limited, Powerline Communications Limited, Pacific PowerCom Limited and Light of Day Limited.  

JULY 2000 to June 2003

SuperBT Canada:  As Director of International Product and Business Development, I have been providing the interface with an international “Consortium” of companies based in New Zealand to development and promote joint technology products throughout Australasia, the South Pacific and Asia/Pacific.  I spearheaded the purchase, development, manufacturing and the obtaining of patents for consumer and commercial IT products and the setting up of distribution channels throughout the target areas.  This effort also included setting up Wilfred Investments Limited in New Zealand and funding Powerline Communications Ltd. and Combined Technology NZ Ltd as the international company headquarters in Christchurch, NZ for the development and launching of the combined powerline / wireless technology products.

During this time I became a member of the Communications Institute of New Zealand and held Director Positions in the following New Zealand and Asia/Pacific Companies; Wilfred Investments Limited, Powerline Communications Limited, Combined Technology NZ Limited, Pacific PowerCom and Light of Day Limited.

MAY 1988 to JULY 2000

Wilfred Investments Inc.  This company offered Financial Consulting and International Investment Funding services for the local as well as the international markets to include the real estate and technology industries as well as other business investment opportunities. 

JULY 1986 to MAY 1988

The Tower Group, Inc.  TGI was formed with other stock holders to provide a full service package to the commercial real estate market in the Denver metro area to provide R&D and other technology companies the modern facilities required to develop and promote their products and services.  Services to this industry included brokerage, management, maintenance, construction, development, and asset management. TGI ultimately owned over 300,000 square feet of commercial space in its own account and developed a portfolio of third party management of over 4 million square feet of commercial space. I achieved the personal distinction of being named among the top 10 commercial brokers in the Denver Metro Area by the Denver Commercial Developers Association.

SEPTEMBER 1980 to JULY 1986:

Falcon Ventures:  FV was founded in Denver, Colorado as a co-partnership to specialise in the development, brokerage and construction of commercial real estate.  My position was one half owner and founder of the company. FV developed in excess of 320,000 Square feet of commercial property for the company account.

JUNE 1978 to SEPTEMBER 1980

IBM Corporation:  Denver, Colorado.  I held the positions of Account Representative, Financial Specialist, Technical Specialist and Staff Assistant for the IBM sales force covering the Southwest Region of the United States.

JANUARY 1977 to MAY 1978

IBM Corporation:  Denver, Colorado.  I held the positions of Marketing Representative and Commercial Bank Specialist for the greater Denver Metro area.

MARCH 1973 to JANUARY 1977

The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company:  Headquarters Office, Akron, Ohio.  Chemical Laboratory Technician and Product Technical Specialist while attending University.  After graduating with majors in Finance and Marketing, I was promoted to Real Estate Specialist overseeing commercial real estate contract negotiations for purchases, sales and lease renewals of Goodyear facilities throughout the United States.

MILITARY . . . MARCH 1969 to MARCH 1973

United States Air Force: I was trained and assigned as a fighter and bomber tactical and long range aircraft computer electronics and weapons specialist.  My rank and position upon honourable discharge was Sergeant, Aircraft Weapons Specialist.

HOBBIES AND INTERESTS

Writing, hiking, fly fishing, sailing, vocal music and Biblical studies.
